Alberto Curci

choreographer and researcher

Alberto Curci was born in Foggia, where he perfected his dance

and choreography technique by studying with dancers of the caliber of

Giorgia Maddamma, Lamine, Lesdema, Mr. Wiggles, Olimpia and

Maddalena Scardi, Kataklò, Elisa Barrucchieri, Teri D'Emma and

many others.

He won prestigious contests and participated in national and

international events (Freestyle Session, Boty Italy, Hip Hop

Connection, B-boy Event) being selected among the best

breakdancers in Europe.

With the Alexis Arts team, in the FISM 2015 event (Fédération

Internationale des Sociétés Magiques), he held the highest

score in the grand illusions category, being in fact world

champion of the FISM World Best Illusion.

 

He boasts collaborations with:

“Le plus grande cabaret du Monde” based in Paris and broadcast on France 2;

The Chinese folk circus at the China Magic Festival in Shanghai;

The Third Chinese Circus Festival in Zhuhai and Macao;

The Prinzen Regent Theater in Munich;

The German broadcaster RtL;

The IgTanzEssen collective;

The PactZollverein arts development center;

The MaschinenHaus theater in Essen;

The SonnenSteinLoft, a hybrid research center for the arts and sciences in Linz, directed

by the organization RedSapata.

 

In 2018, he curated the choreography, collaborating with the set designer Michela Casiere and the actor Paolo Sassanelli, for the staging of a multimedia performance in honor of the ruins of Faragola entitled: "Il figlio di mio figlio".

In 2021, he obtained the qualification of "Technician for the execution, interpretation and creation of choreographies in classical and contemporary dance and ballet performances", promoted and recognized by the European Union.

In 2022, he received an award from the German Ministry of Culture for his research "Die Illusion der Zeit", which compares movement in space-time and sound waves.

In 2023, he won a two-month artistic residency at PactZollverein (Essen) for his project

"Hic et Nunc", funded by the German Ministry of Arts and New Media.

In 2024, with the Hic et Nunc project, he actively collaborates with the hybrid research center for arts and sciences "SonnenSteinLoft", expanding his concept in collaboration with the Japanese collective "Vrijheid Global Art Community" which leads him to perform in Osaka in April 2025 on the occasion of the Expo.

Selected as a guest artist for the artistic residence "ArtHouse Jersey, Guernsey Arts and

Puglia Culture" promoted by Puglia Culture (Teatro Pubblico Pugliese).

Founder of the Kollektiv Zeitigeist, he currently works as a teacher, researcher and freelance

artistic director in Germany in the NRW region.
