Dancer / Choreographer / Teacher
Eva Schmechtig (she/they) is a Vienna-based dance artist, choreographer, and educator. After completing her studies in Dance Arts, Performance and Pedagogy at the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz, she worked with Norrdans in Sweden. She develops collaborative projects across Europe at the intersection of physical precision, experimental sound, and choreographic composition, and has collaborated with artists such as Ioannis Mandafounis and Akira Yoshida. Alongside her artistic practice, she teaches internationally, including as a guest professor at the University of Jinan in China. Eva Schmechtig is an artistic member of RedSapata in Linz and is represented by ZAV Künstlervermittlung.
