Kay Macdonald is an African Nova Scotian, Queer, Trans community facilitator, educator, artist, dancer, activist, facilitator, performer, and curator born and raised in Kjipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki.
Carmel Farahbakhsh is a sound artist, composer, violinist, and performer. Carmel is also a community educator, arts maker, and youth worker as well as the Executive Director at The Youth Project. They have collaborated on the Khyber Centre for the Arts board for five years, and hold a position as co-director of Kjipuktuk-based music festival EVERYSEEKER.
together, they are new suns collective, a poly-disciplinary performance duo. centering movement, sonic exploration, joy, and play Kay and Carmel build a conversation through improvised violin score and movement. strings, voice, light, and the body - all present here.
