YAK Collective

We are YAK, Ryan, Antti & Mar, an interdisciplinary Netherlands-based collective formed

around a shared passion for performance making from the interplay of sound, movement, text, light, and objects.

YAK is defined by an interdisciplinary, playful, intimate, sharp and experimental approach to performance creation. YAK background combines contemporary theatre, music, urban/contemporary dance and future studies, giving life to a hybrid, cross-disciplinary and

genuinely unique performative language. Physical, visual and sound

elements are interwoven pursuing emotive, absurd and awkward images, and creating non linear dramaturgies that open up space for imagination.

Pursuing sustainable practices in performing arts, YAK is constituted as a platform for performance research-making. We base our methodology on the pillars of

playfulness, shared and situated knowledge and accompaniment of processes.
