Anna Chiara Goerig / Leon Crusius

Rita is a solo dance theatre exploration of our complex relationship with coffee—how it shifts between ritual, pleasure, necessity, and obsession. Through movement, humor, and abstraction, the piece navigates the contradictory narratives surrounding coffee, not just as a drink, but as a mirror of our time. During the residency at Red Sapata, choreographer and performer Chiara Goerig researched these themes physically, while videographer and outside eye Leon Crusius documented and contributed to the creative process. Together, they also developed a dance film as part of this research, which will be released soon. Future performances and screenings are currently in planning.
