Magdalena Neuburger

Magdalena Neuburger is currently undertaking an artistic residency at Sonnensteinloft/Red Sapata. She works as an artist, designer, and dancer, moving between performing and visual arts to expand the interdisciplinary scope of her practice. During this week, she is conducting test runs for her final exhibition, which will take place in April and May at Hauptplatz 23. Her project, “Salt Archive,” explores the often invisible labor in dance by using salty sweat stains as visible markers of embodied effort. Through transparent, water-soluble fabric objects filled with salt from Upper Austria and gradually dissolved by a gentle irrigation system, the installation creates fragile, skin-like forms that record presence through crystallized traces resembling sweat marks.
